Our Mission & Vision
The Yolo Food Hub Network is committed to advancing food justice by transforming our regional food system into one that is equitable, resilient, and community-rooted. Through new and expanded facilities for aggregation, processing, storage, and distribution, we will ensure that fresh, culturally appropriate, and nutritious food grown by local farmers reaches those who need it most—including school children, hospital patients, unhoused neighbors, humans in carceral settings, and communities living below the poverty line.
By bridging small farms with institutional, retail, and emergency food markets, we aim to secure and expand local food supply chains, particularly those serving local food pantries and the Yolo Food Bank. Our work strengthens regional food security, supports dignified employment and job training, stabilizes local food markets, and builds a just and thriving food economy for Yolo County and beyond.
We envision a thriving Yolo County food system that nourishes all people, sustains local farms and economies, and honors the land we steward. Rooted in community, equity, and resilience, our vision is a region where fresh, healthy food is a right—not a privilege—and where every step from field to table supports the wellbeing of people, place, and planet.
